The Spanish Club ,Barcelona received a €100 million bid for Frenkie de Jong today.

In a startling revelation made by journalist, Gerard Romero Barcelona received a massive €100 million offer for midfielder Frenkie de Jong on the transfer deadline day.

The 25-year-old Netherlands international has been at the centre of the transfer speculation all through the summer. At first, Manchester United made a strong push to sign him and had even reached an agreement over an €85 million deal with Barça.

Again,de Jong refused to move to Old Trafford as he wished to succeed at Spotify Camp Nou, while the lack of Champions League football on offer at United was also a major detractor.

Chelsea also showed an interest in de Jong and are said to have made attempts to negotiate a deal for the Dutchman. But, once again, the midfielder showed no indication that he would consider a move away from the Catalan giants this summer.

Over the past week, it has become quite clear that de Jong will remain a Barcelona player beyond the summer window.

Romero is now reporting that an unnamed club made an attempt to sign the former AFC Ajax prodigy on the transfer deadline day. The team in question are believed to have made a whopping offer worth around €100 million for de Jong.

Aside the money given, the Netherlands international is unlikely to leave Barcelona in the next few hours.
